Chiark .....
Luke...
Heard some today
. Got the brochure in the car... Not bad, but couldn't really tell as I didn't get a decent "audition" as they were only running as rear fill. Look and sound good for the money at first sight.
I'm seriously considering the CMP x2 12 as my next sub. The crystal range seems a real "hidden gem" of car audio. I'm just trying to find out if it really is a gem
Cheers,
Nick.

Next question...............
Ref: Aperiodic membranes enclosures..
Within the "Elite Car audio" Link it is mentioned that the "QTS" of the sub should be .45 or less. Mine are .466 and are DVC...(JL8W6's) what do you reccon??????Start with new subs or not worry too much??
Cheers

I personally wouldn't get too hung up on T/S parameters. JL audio have recently thrown away the rulebook regarding T/S, as the measurements are taken using a 1W "burp" into the sub if I've been informed correctly.
This ain't representative of what a sub does!
The 8W6 is, IMHO, excellent providing you're not wanting a load of low down bass.
Qts is an aggregate measurement of control of the sub. It takes into account both mechanical suspension (Qms) and electrical suspension (Qes) and can help to dictate what sort of enclosure will work well. For .466, I think you're best off with a sealed enclosure. It certainly isn't a reason to change subs!
