Question

Where's the best place to site a CD autochanger in a MY01 WRX wagon. I've currently got it in the boot but everytime I go over a bump or small pothole the cd skips. The dealer did not seem to think it was a good idea to place it under the front seats as they mentioned something about hot airflow or something - MAYBE it was just them talking hot air.

Any recommendations please for best position - thanks.

Wherever it is, make sure that it's securely mounted to the chassis - that's the reason that changers skip...

Under the passenger seat is much more damped compared to anywhere near the suspension struts. There are air vents under there, but carpet tape blocks them quite nicely. It means that your back seat passengers don't get warmer feet, but that's no great loss
