Mods..I realise this is int he wrong section but I would appreciate a little exposure as I need urgent advice!Cheers

Im wanting to upgrade the ICe in my e36 M3 evo....has anyone done any upgrades on this car aand do they know what works well ( with specific components please if you can ) and the sizes of speakers at the front etc.

Any advice would be greatly appreaciated. Im not intending on going mental, just want some mids/tweeters ( under £100) and a decent 12" boxed sub ( I have a Rockford Fosgate 2 channl amp for this)

Any advice greatly appreciated.Cheers!

When I had my R plate E36 M3 Evo, I opted for a set of 5 1/4" MB Quart comps up front, 2 12" JL Audio amps and a pair of 6.5" comps on the rear shelf in the pods they provide. I had to modify the pods to make them fit but all went in well.. You want to go for a set of Diamond Audio comps up front and forget the rear though if its clarity your after. As I was running a multimedia system I needed rears...

Hope it helps
Chris

Do not hack the rear shelf around at all as it is an important part of the vehicles structure.

done this to my e36 m3 when i had it, put a set of focal components up front which fitted into the original pods without and needs for hacking, cant remeber exactly which ones, but think they were poly 165v if that helps, about 180 a pair.

put a pair of JL 6x9s onto the rear shelf with the plastic pods that mate up to the orignal shelf, you can buy these from a car audio specialist for about 25 per pair.

then had a single JL 12" in the boot with 2 amps on a MDF board mounted vertically on the passengers side of the boot, just make a custom board to fit, screw it into the trim on the left boot panel and then put a couple of screws to secure it vertically.

hope this helps, mail me if you want more info

Rich
