Red face

Just bought the misses an mp3 player and some tracks have faulty noise on them? Any idea what is causing it? sounds like a fast crackle of speaker! Doesn't seem related to kbps which I thought it would. Anyone else had problem? (It is a Panasonic system).

Maybe a problem with bitrate? The player might not keep up with very high sustained bitrates. That's one guess anyway... Maybe you could take the MP3 disc to your dealer and try it out on another unit there to try and isolate the cause of the problem.

I've got a Sony CD/MP3 unit and have no problems with MP3 noise.

What speed did you copy the CD at ??? i have a kenwood CD changer that plays MP3 cd's if you write the cd at any more than 8x speed the player skips and crackles like a goodun'. Plus it is VERY selective on which media (make if blank cdr cd/rw) is used.
Also i have a Panasonic DVD player at home that does not like anything above 8x write speed as well!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like aliasing - due to be recorded at the wrong sampling frequency (in the 1st place).......

Try finding different versions of the tracks.....

Unhappy

The problem now is how do I know the quality before ruining another CD? All the MP3s work on PC but just not when recorded and bitrate varies, some good at high rate, some good at low rate.

Complicated!!!!

all my MP3 are encoded at 192kbs at a constant bitrate. I have a creative jukebox that i transfer the files from, and burn to cd through nero. I am not sure what software you are using but creative supply there own with the jukebox, and this does the job very well.

Talking

Creatives software is called Playcenter 3(there is also a playcenter 2 but 3 is the newest version), try Kazaa for finding the software as i dont think it is avaliable without buying the jukebox itself and they cost around £200, but they are an exellent piece of kit, well worth having if you love music on the move or just endless music at home without messing around changing CD's over. I have around 1100 tracks stored on mine and it is still only two thirds full (20 GB version)!!!!!!!!!!!
