Scoobycar

I'm having my new ICE kit fitted tomorrow. I'm using a guy who was recommended by another Impreza owning mate of mine. Give Simon a call on 07970 272396. He is mobile (based in Hoddesdon), so he will come out to your house and fit it there if you want. He'll also supply kit if you need it (at pretty good prices). The other great advantage is that he knows Scoobs and has done a number of MY01s. I should be able to post some pictures at some point.

Chris

I need someone to install a proper sound system in my STI7, I know nothing at all about ICE except that the standard set up is rubbish, any advice on head sets speakers and most importantly someone that can do a good job would be appreciated...budget approx £1000. Thanks!

You could try in-car or WVS or whatever they call themselves in Baldock.

I used Soundstage in Broxbourne. They did an excellent job on my Evo 6. 01992 440549 ask for Dean or Adam

I know it is a little out of your area but Ian Bannings in Guildford did a great job on my MY01.

They have a set up speced that would give performance and with budget (the set-up I had).

They also give a discount to Scoobynetters!

A bit closer, the Sound Gallery in High Wycombe. They do a pretty good spread of stuff & are known for excellent installs.

Thanks for your help folks, I'll give them a ring and take it up from there, any suggestions for a good head unit, I hear talk that the Alpine units are fairly well thought of?

Depends what you want. Alpines have lots of lights & lots of gadgets, which is great if you like lights & can work out how to use the gadgets Although thinking about it, Alpines don't have quite as many lights as some others at the moment
The gadgets can help make up for deficiencies in other parts of the system or simply the layout of the car... But remember that in the price you're paying for the gadgets whether you use them or not!
I also think they are nicked more than others?
Still, a good set of head-units anyway

don't think the opportunist thief is going to check to make before he steals it. Most of the competition set ups use Alpine. Although you're not likely to use all the features, your sure to find most of the features you want. I had Sony for years and was happy with it but have now gone for Alpine.

Well Simon did a top quality job, fitted the front speakers with component tweaters (Infinity 605cs), Alpine headunit, sub and Kenwood amp in under four hours! Difference is staggering - I really do rate the Infinity speakers - they've got to be the bargin of the century at £100 a pair!

I'll post some piccies tomorrow.

Cheers
Chris
