Hi,

I'm looking to swap out my current front loading CD player for one that can also play MP3 files from CD.

Could anyone recommend one?

Thanks
Richard.

I've recently installed an Alpine 7894RB, which works well.

Believe 7893R is same unit minus silver front.

I have the Pioneer DEH-P8400MP which I am very pleased with. It is silver so it looks good in a MY01/02...

It retails at around £599 but got it for under £400 from http://www.mcs-direct.co.uk

I got the Alpine 7893 price matched from Halford vs. MCS-direct with free fitting from Halfords - can't beat that, it retails at normal price of £345 at Halfords - so far I'm more than pleased with it, but I've not had time to pick up all its features, its almost a bit too much - and I like gadgets and also work in IT !

Great deal - especially with the free fitting.

Hi Richard, I've just got a Kenwood MP3 CD player and have been happy with it so far. Still not figured out the MP3 element yet as I've been on holiday away from computers but I'll report back in due course. Look nice at night though

7939 is a top bit of kit, get it price matched by a local authorised alpine dealer - like Halfords, which is probably the best of all (as they'll change it with no fuss). You could buy on the internet, but then you would have to pay for postage etc if it goes wrong. If Halfords price match MCS, then I would go with that. Got mine from my local alpine dealer in the same way.
