Does anyone have any experience of the 12" Cadence Subs/amps.....as they are on sale at Hendon Car Audion for about 170 incl. box/wiring kit etc.....is this kit recommended ?

Yeah, they do a Polished Silver amp as well.....right!!

Well, I fitted a Cadence Sub and Amp for a mate of mine in his Golf.(Need I say more!!)

Anyway, after listening to it,,,,it was ok I suppose but, its all down to what you listen to and how you like your base. BOOMY, TIGHT, CLARITY.....

I've just auditioned a BOSTON Pro 10 in a mates car....and lets just say that it plays every single note. And the box...well only 0.5ft ³ (14 liters) volume sealed - basically well small (spare wheel install easy..mmmmm nice)

Its all on Budget at the end of the day mate. But do you really want a budget sub in a Scooby.
