single v's multidisc

Question

hi guys and gals
i am changing the ice iin my car which currently is a radio/cassette(which i dont use)/multidisc.
is there a quality difference in single head units compared to multidisc head units.

As a rule of thumb, no, but compare like with like. For example, Kenwood do a performance series of components, and their PS headunits CD replay is damn good - as is the PS changer. But put a PS changer on a normal headunit and because of the compromise in head unit quality, you'll not get the very best out of the changer.

Being honest, this is largely academic as the quality of stuff nowadays is generally pretty good
