mdf for everything that you can then fibreglass for the rest.. and lots of it... lay a bin liner over the surface you are molding from...

I made one....


....out of cardboard and packing tape

the plan is to use it as a prototype for a MDF one - but if it's anything like my DIY Decat idea I'll probably end up just buying a real one - life's too short!

Volume is driven by the sub that you're using - match its requirements.

To make one, as David says use MDF as much as possible then do the rest with fibreglass.

Slightly off topic, but is there some accoustic property of MDF that makes it superior in terms of sound to a decent marine ply?

I dislike MDF - I can't get on with it for various reasons...

Question

been thinking about how to make one and just checking to see if im on the right lines. or does anyone have a link to a site that show you how to make one.
and how big do you need it to be (volume)
