project nearly finished......
Pictures in around a week, I havent got it cosmetically ok yet
this system is set up for clarity rather than stupid loudness (although the bass from the 15 will shake the wind outta you

here goes.
Rockford power series 1000.2 (producing 1600w@2ohm according to data sheet), driving Soundstream SPL 15" Dual coil sub, Remote Punch bass control (not used)

Caliber CQXR3 electronic bass driver (with in dash wired rem.)

Alpine FMV400s (4x80watt or thereabouts) driving pair of Phoenix Gold QX 6" mids + Infinity Kappa tweeters in front doors. Infinity 552i's in rear doors on other 2 channels of same amp.

Alpine CDA 7876R (3 4volt preouts, Centre frequency control etc.)

Caliber .5 farad cap running mids amp (alpine)
1 Farad Maplin jobby running bass amp (rockford)

7" screen and pc hidden in boot, running winamp with playlist, DVD player, autoroute with magellan GPS unit, outlook, internet explorer with nokia phone and car kit wired numeric keypad and one handed mouse. 300watt inverter powering this pc and original playstation (couldnt be arsed with a PS2 as it aint for me to play on anyway )

Assorted phoenix gold RCAs and cable (free from me mate at sextons ) More dynamat than you can shake a fairly large stick at ( and the soddin fing still rattles ) that'll teach me for gettin a 5 door Anyone wants to see pics, i will do it asap when i have hidden everything and cleaned the car Lets just say it makes my 6 hours a day driving a little more pleasurable

Sounds like it'll do the job. PC in tbe boot with a screen is horribly familiar - now screens are down in price i may well do that to replace the LCD character display I'm using.

You have plans then, mr Wallis? I still need to spend time on mine...

easy!.. (watching tv at 90...)

I used to pick a friend up from brittish gas on the leeds inner ring road, and used to sit in traffic watching the simpsons.. someone just beeps when you need to roll forward..

Used to love playing 'erm import dvd's loud!

Big plans nick... either phoenix gold tantrum (sp) and JL's or Rockford Power Series Subs, and maybe a even bigger class D or a
couple of them... (thinking of two 15"'s and 1x 10"

But David, that's *illegal*

Should be good. I'm picking up a single power 15 this weekend so that should signal the start of my reinstall. Question is, do I keep the 10s as well?

yes deffo... how much? where from...

Keep the 10's, and a 15, make the 15 have remote gain control... Even with the right box, I dont think 15's are tight enough..

And a power 15 aint a musical sub, unlike your jl's... which Ive yet to hear properly.

Use a slightly smaller than recommended (sealed) enclosure with a rockford power series sub should produce a grin. The bass will grip you and shake the wind out on the lows although not drop quite as low, i recommend around 10-20% smaller than usual enclosure. By the way guess who just bought a pair of w6 JLs

10' sub? ****!

I might keep one ten then... Just for the punch. Never really had much success with two different sub systems, so may try to somehow cross over between the two different subs. Hmm - should be possible with the 4XS I've got...
