Radio Code Input
I've fitted a Kenwood GX-204RE Radio/6CD to a 2004 Outback. I expected to have to input the code before it would work but I can't find the procedure anywhere. Does anyone out there know? It's from a 2009 Outback.

All sorted now
Popped into the local dealers after work today; they told me that the car has to be programmed to recognise the new stereo rather than the usual system of an unlock code being entered in the stereo. They stuck it in the workshop and 5 minutes later I had music again. Best of all they didn't charge me for it
Have to say that everytime I've dealt with my local dealer I've been impressed by their helpfulness.

Don
A workshop told me that later radios were part of the car's management system and were recognised accordingly. For anything new the car has to go to a dealer for them to tell the management system there is a new part. I'm not sure what the cost of that might be. However, my radio has a code that should be input. Thanks for taking the time to assist. I'm still trying umpteen different combinations to get the radio to say anything but SECURITY.
