Default Ipod adaptor

I've seen on Ebay adaptor leads to fit the standard headunit and give ipod control and audio, but im not convinced.

ebay id - 251386203321

Has anyone tried one?

Does the standard head unit out of newer cars fit and do any of them have usb or mp3 playback?

I dont want nor can I afford a spangly neon touch screen, I dont want anything fancy, just want to connect my ipod to the car.

I burnt some tunes onto a cd-r and the head unit wont play the disc

I don't think that will work.

There is a Kenwood adapter that works though...

When you burn the cd you got to make sure you finalise and select at start it's for a CD player not data cd ! Head units normally pick up after a few inserts it's a music cd! Worth a try! If not halfords chesp headunit with USB port or aux input and double jack cable will sort prob out!

I have one of those Kenwood KCA-IP500 adapters, that I bought back in 2007, but never fitted as my 2007 forester had a different stereo.

It's boxed but never been fitted.

Just had a look at the back of my stereo, I have a brown wire just above the cd changer port, that has had a bullet connector put on it and then it taped up, whats it do?

Got one of the connects2 units in my focus and my mums got one in her Alfa and they've been fantastic. been on the cars for 3 years with out any issues. One thing I will say if you've got a lightning connector you have to buy genuine 30 pin converter from apple.

Looking to get similar set up for my wagon. My phones my iPod sat nav boost gauge the lot so having it integrated with out lots of wires is a must for me.
