Andy F Ecutek and Apexi Group buy!
I have been speaking to Andy Forrest at www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/ who most of you probably know. Andy has had a few projects which you have probably seen at an event or in a magazine feature. The guy is simply a legend!
Anyway, its time to bring you an Ecutek and Apexi FC mapping group buy which is being run on numerous Subaru forums!
Apexi FC
Regular price of the Apexi FC supplied, fitted and mapped is £750 without the commander (please note this is Andys normal retail price. I have seen other traders sell the unit for £700-£900 for the Apexi unit and then mapping on top). The commander can be purchased from Andy for an additional £80. Now the group buy price is £699 for the Apexi FC fitted and mapped (members again can purchase the commander for £80)
Some bullet points for the Apexi
Complete replacement ECU (classic range only)
Ability to detect potential maf failure via commander
Flashing CEL if knock is detected.
4 boost settings available on commander (set during mapping)
Boost control up to 1.8 bar on 97 onwards. 3 bar sensor and solenoid required for over 1.1 bar on 93-96 (£180)
Adjustable rpm limit, use 500rpm as anti theft or use as valet mode with 3k rpm limit to avoid someone thrashing your pride and joy.
Ecutek
Retail price for the Ecutek 3 is £650 plus vat. Andy has said he will map Ecutek for £550 including vat!!!!!
Additional costs may apply to Ecutek if the induction system has changed in a big way (ie 85mm intakes)
The prices above are if the customer goes to Andy based in Scotland. He will travel anywhere in the UK for £200 per single day and can do 2 cars perday or, if things are better organised, £260 for 2 days and he can fit in 4 cars making the travelling only £65 each.
Bookings would be from mid Aug onwards.
I have organised before Andy to fly to Norwich to map some members cars and all was mapped fine and the customers were very happy

Username, BBS board (eg Scoobynet, Scoobycity etc), Apexi or Tek3

Also very interested in this. I'm in Glasgow so would be easy for me to get it done. Only problem is I haven't any mods done yet, so what do you recommend and who to do it up here.
It's a P1. Only things I have done to it are Defis, Knocklink, and Blitz NUR Spec R.

Hi,
Spoken to Andy F about mapping already - if anyone is down London (South West - Wimbledon) way or close would be very interested in reducing travel cost etc etc

would be interested in getting the car mapped. but this but it would have to be before august the 10 as i'm on holiday for 2 weeks. and then want to get the car in the body shop for full respray. i'm in essex but would be prepared to travel a bit.

bighead - Andy hasnt mapped a Motec yet. I am speaking to him about it though and he definitely wants to give it ago. Ive got a motec to so would like him to have a go. At the moment i believe its just Apexi and Tek at the moment

I thought that once you had bought a licence to have the ECUtek s/ware used on your ECU, then any one could fiddle with it?
Not had it done ( Apex'i FC for me, older classic! ) so could easily be wrong. The mappers will be able to tell you firmly.
