Classic Scoop Splitter
Anyone interested in a Intercooler scoop splitter. New age have them as`standard. Helps re-direct the air-flow to the entire intercooler not just the back area.
See links in this thread
Original post
Scooby-Si has one like the plans in the thread and is up for making a number if we can get enough interest so he can bulk buy the aluminium.
If interested post here and I'll get names.
Not sure on price yet.
Will post soon.
cheers

I could get some of these made up for you if you are interested.
The diagram on the original thread looks simple enough, (here ) the only 'difficult' bit would be rolling thar radius.
I have used this company before to make 'foreigners' for other stuff so I already have an account set up with them.
I'd be interested in the taller scoop aswel for the classic cars, saw one this weekend at JAE and thought it looked the biz, the flat front one rather than the overhanging version.

scooby-si was planning on making them up. The plans on the shown on the thread aren't the same as the one on the web-link. No curve in this one.
Not sure on the fabrication method scooby-si is going to use?
speedydaveb may be worth you dropping scooby-si a pm, your option may be quicker/cheaper??
Scoops?
Came across some chaps on eBay doing decent looking scoops. Swapped a few emails with them, I try and find their link, when I get home. As in sunny Newbury at the moment.

Going quite nicely this Group Buy.
Right,the Tilt kit.
It was found that instead of having the intercooler flat, there was a improvment in cooling effeciency if the intercooler was tilted.
You can purchase the bits from B&Q, here are some instructions (can't remember where i got them from) on what and how to do it.
I used some hard-rubber things (screw onto bottom of chair legs?) in place of the aluminium bushes, cut them to size. One bloke used some reasonably strong plastic pipe?
Intercooler Tilt Kit
· 21mm on the passengers side
· 13mm on the turbo side
· the bolts will need to be replaced with longer 45mm bolts.
Instructions;
Remove mounting bolts to the Intercooler (IC), Loosen the throttle body clamp and turbo outlet / Y pipe hose clamp. Lift the rear of the IC up (rubber can stick to the brackets), slide the alloy spacers in, the short one is for the turbo side, the long one is for the other side. Fit new bolts and tighten.
Tighten the throttle body clamp.
By using a large screw driver lever the Y pipe all the way onto the turbo neck, then tighten the hose clamp.
The rubber seal needs to be trimmed, this can be done on the car
by using large scissors, you can cut the rubber quite straight, the rubber needs 14mm trimmed from the rear and 5mm trimmed from the front, the sides are then blended in. There are ribbed lines on the rubber that can help to keep you in a straight line.
I then spray WD40 around the outside of the IC so as the rubber seal will sit inside the IC area .
I've got a pdf with a few pics etc, which may, make things a little clearer.
As I can't figure out how to insert a file on here, anyone want a copy, pm me with their email address and I'll send it on.
cheers
