CP Pistons
I've been offered a very good deal on forged CP, these uprated pistons for the 2.5 US STi engine come complete with pins.
http://www.cppistons.com/PDF%20Files/CPImport.pdf
Anybody wanting that extra level of safety or the ability to rev over 7K rpm should consider these pistons as an upgrade before installing their engines.
I really need to purchase 10 sets for it to make sense as a groupbuy.
I think the final price would be in the region of £350 !!!
Please add your names below if you are interested.
I should also be able to get pistons for the EJ20, but will check first.

IIRC the CP's use the OE rings you would be taking off the unused std pistons.
Mark, do you know if these CP's are a 'drop in' to the std bore ? and if so, what clearance would they run with ?

"The CP pistons run a .0035 inch clearance."
A bit more information is available here as well

Hope this answers your question John, if not let me know.
The pistons are a drop in with .0035" clearance based
on the biggest stock sti piston. That would mean the
clearance would not be larger than .0035". It might
be slightly tighter, say maybe .0005-.0007 but not
anymore than that. Subaru runs a factory clearance of
just .0004, but that's with hyperuetectic pistons that
do not swell up at all.
CR is 8.2:1 with stock thin ej257 gaskets and sti
heads. The us sti heads and wrx heads both have a
chamber volume of around 52cc. I think the other
version sti heads are similar. If you use my Cometic
gaskets, the cr drops to right around 8.0:1.

A couple of people have shown interest in the pistons. I'm going to do another GB of engines soon, so I had planned to have it all delivered on the same pallet. Even if only two people buy pistons then I'm happy to sort out the importing. The price would be very slightly higher but only £10-20 per set. I would imagine that if they got too hot they would expand. I was given a price for the rods but its at home

Ok John
I will order a couple of sets with the next GB engines. Would you want standard rings for an extra $100.
drb5 FYI the rods would be made by "Oliver" the company not the person or musical.

These are the ones I want Mark, along with EJ257 gaskets if possible.
