Hi guys,

My second thread of the day....

After doing the clutch on my car (over a pit) I noticed that when I put the ignition on my fuel pump primes but doesn't stop, is this right?

If not what could be causing it?

What would be the symptoms if this was the case obviously apart from the fuel pump working overtime I assume?

Quick update - When I leave the ignition on and let the fuel pump prime away I can hear a trickling/squirting in the engine bay, it sounds as though its on the drivers side of the engine area?

Definitely no leaks by the way.

Any ideas guys?

Under further investigation it sounds as though the noise is coming from the FPR, I can hear fuel gushing through it? It also sounds like the fuel pump is not pressurising the system? It starts and runs fine?

I believe the FPR will hold correct pressure in the fuel rail and bleed off the excess back into the tank once up to pressure, if this is the case I don't think the FPR is my problem here.

What controls the fuel pump? As in what tells it to stop once the ignition has been on for a little bit? Fuel pump relay?
