Default Best place for Lambda location on classic ?

Do i put it in the original place, i.e the headers or do i put it in my sportscat as it has the bung for it ?

It's been mapped with it down at the headers, assume it would need tweaking if you relocated it to the downpipe.

i worded my question wrong, what i mean is, is there a benefit to it being in the downpipe or in the headers ? or doesnt it matter ?
