Default Fitting dump valve

Hi guys,

I have just ordered this dump valve for my 2005 WRX.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2513383490...84.m1439.l2649

It looks like it doesnt come with anything other than the valve itself... what else am i going to need to install it? Blanking plate, hoses etc?

I know its a pointless mod but i just cant get enough of that noise!

Cheers

not only is it pointless but its also detrimental. your car is gauging all the air it sucks through the air filter and assigning fuel to burn with it, with your "wicked cool whoosh noise" all the air you're venting to atmosphere is accounted for and fuel has been sent to injectors.

Without getting into the dumbvalve debate.
That eBay item is a piece of cheap crap and will undoubtably leak boost and cause issues.

SUBARU IMPREZA 2001 - 2006 WRX / STI DUMP VALVE (BLUE)

This valve is fully compatible with the Subaru engine management systems and mounts directly in place*of the original valve on the intercooler mount.

This Piston / Trumpet Dump Valve*will also help prolong the life of your turbo and*cure any boost leaks etc associated with the standard*factory fitted dump valve. This is especially important if your Subaru Impreza Turbo has been modified or had the boost increased. This Valve will*hold boost pressure without leaking resulting in more power*throughout the rev range and*creating a whoosh! sound on every gear change!

LOL any seller with the name fastbits avoid, if you must get a proper hks or turbosmart and have it mapped, 40 v250 quid add the price of a new engine

To the OP the dump valve that your looking at is a piece of crap,if you have to fit a VTA dump valve at least fit a quality item from the likes of turbosmart tial etc....SJ.

One more bit of advice I would not recommend fitting one unless your going to map for it or run your car mafless.SJ.

oh well... i guess I wont bother then!

I am planning to remap ASAP, is there any benefits at all to fitting a decent quality one if i am remapping to account for it?

On that note, can anyone recommend a good place to get a map in scotland?

We're lucky up these parts, we have one of the best mappers on the planet on our doorstep in Edinburgh(shire).

decided to just bite the bullet and do it properly.... emailed RA motorsports earlier and this is what he recommends! Does this sound like a good start to you guys?

"I have listed a performance package below which would give you figures of around 285bhp, the limiting factor would be the TD04 turbo:

1) Walbro in tank 255lph fuel pump
2) FSE adjustable fuel regulator
3) De cat down pipe and gaskets
4) De cat up pipe to turbo and gaskets
5) Cosworth panel air filter
6) Small service using genuine filter and 10w/60 fully synth oil
7) NGK 6 spark plugs x4
8) Andy Forrest Ecutek licence and map
9) Labour to fit all of the above

The total for above performance package would be £1564.40, if you wanted more than the 285bhp we could change the turbo for a larger unit such as a VF34 which would be a used part of a STI 8, this would give you around the 350bhp at an additional cost of £380 giving you a total of £1944.40."

because cars like WRX's are under powered and under performers out of the box, may as well just by a Corsa
