Default UK Classic 1999 _ Boost problem

Just brought a 1999 Uk 2000 classic yesterday.

Seems to be a bit hesitant when coming on boost. Also when changing gears quickly the boost doesn't seem to be there when you change up.

So say I give it some welly in first to 6k , change up quickly and there is a hesitation and then it starts to boost up in second. Something doesnt feel quite right.

I was going to buy a new MAF and see if that helps?

Think its sorted now. When i picked it up last night i put bp ultimate 97 in as thats the first garage i saw and I did not know the area.

Filled up with optimax just now and the car seems to be fine now . No hesitation when coming on boost or when changing gear.

Are they that sensitive to the fuel??????

Right problem came back last night and then went away again. So it not fuel.

Decided to check the engine management light. I got 22,24,12 which comes back as knock sensor, idle air control sensor, starter switch faulty.

Could knock sensor be the problem? I've taken the battery off , going to leave it a bit see if its cleared then take it for a run and re check.

Cleared the ecu, took it for a good run and checked the engine light again. Seems to be running fine and no codes have come back.

They pretty much all do it, it can be exaggerated by dump valves and running decats without being mapped. Most times its related to the MAF, thats whu im going mafless when i get mine mapped as they are fragile when going for more power.

Mine's a MY00 and it was badly hesitant before a remap (plus I replaced the MAF and boost sensor having tried the carb cleaner = waste of time). Drives like a dream now.
