Mine has been off my Car for 7 years now, some people use them some don't it's not going to really cause a problem either way, when you have a rebuild it's best to keep them off so as you can see if your car is loosing any fluids oil etc....SJ.

Agreed for the 100 miles or so after a rebuild, but the main benifit of keeping the cover in place is to minimise road debris and traffic dirt from entering the engine bay. Also stops the nuts and bolt from rusting, making engine work a little easier.

Personally, I'd much rather run a cover.

Valid point, but some cars are wrapped in cotton wool by there owners,my car is a Garage queen and has not seen winter driving in 9 years plus I'm one of those self acclaimed detailers,so getting under my car to wax a nut or to is no biggie for meSJ.

Supposed to draw air under the car better and aid engine cooling? Think I saw David from API write that. Mine is off at the mo but going back on later today.

Technically speaking, the undertray is there to aid aerodynamics under the bonnet and keep the air flowing the way that Subaru intended. They can be left off and in some cases where tubular headers are fitted, it is better for them to be off rather than have the car catch fire.....

Just taking them off, because you cannot be bothered to put them back on is why they are usually missing . I recommend re-fitting them. If Subaru though they were unnecessary they'd never have fitted them.
