Open the bonnet look down, bottom of engine between radiator and main engine there's what looks like exhaust manifold, looks aluminium but can't be as it's nearly rusted through. Please someone tell me this isn't the manifold and it is cheap to replace.

Please?

If not cheap, how nice do I have to be to my bank manager?

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?

Where does it run from?? and where to?? How big is it??

If it runs from (when looking straight at the car) right to left and is about 2" dia it is exhaust manifold... about 1000 to replce with stainless steel... probably less than 100 to replace with standard... if you are replacing with standard then port and polish it... show photos if your not still sure!

Could just be the heat shield........

Is the exhaust blowing?

mines the same mate - I'm pretty convinced its just the heatshield as I dont have any exhaust blows that I can hear/feel.

Still looks pretty grim though - I know exactly what you mean!

...but hopefully not anything to worry about too much...
