Default heeeeellllppppp !!!!

Hi Guys I really need help !

I have an Sti type uk, 2005, re-mapped to 320bhp, it was puring like a kitten then burbelled and died ! it will now turn over but just wont fire up.

Its getting fuel and spark, changed fuel filters.

I have plugged it into a code reader................ faults !!

The main ones

MAF
KNOCK SENSOR
AIR TEMP SENSOR
MISS FIRE ALL 4 CYCLINDERS
WATER TEMP SENSOR

Would any of these cause the no start problem ? or a combination of the ones above.

What would stop it starting ?? I really appreciate any help

Check the two large connectors behind the battery, brown and grey are attached to a bracket. If they have ever been unplugged and not pushed back together till they click then the pins can break contact intermittently, also check all other connecters and that no wires have melted against your exhaust.

All of the above have happened to me and those were the causes

Cheers gazney, I know the plugs your on about, two big ones close together.

I know it had a cambelt and plugs changed not that long ago, just a thought what other plugs are there if the engines lifted out ? are there two on the other side as well ?

Yes mate but they are for exhaust sensors and boost control solenoid and are mounted on the driver side strut tower, i cant see that causing those codes though, the two plugs on passenger side ar the main plugs for the harness, the only other thing i can think is the earth for the engine harness may have pulled out of its terminal, it is located on the top of the inlet manifold its bolted to the driver side of the manifold via a eyelet type connection and should have two wires going to it (red and white) maybe they have been disturbed and snapped under vibration, just a thought.... good luck

I have only just replaced the MAF about 6 months ago ......im hoping its not that.

The earth strap sounds like an idea would explain it turning over and not starting, does the harness have its own earth to the engine ?

cheers lads

Could be a dirty Cam sensor. I had similar. Spark and fuel. but no bang.. Turned out the cam sensor was dirty.. Easy thing to try and clean before buying new bits!

sorted it was one of 3 things !!

1) A small vacuum pipe had come off the turbo, the one that connects to an accuator and the other end on the air intake. Its a tiny 2/3mm pipe.

2) Loose earth lead on the top of the manifold 3) a split vacuum pipe at the back of the power steering pump.

Well its nearly sorted.........it starts first turn but it sounded a little rough on the revs and when throttle open it was like it was hitting the rev limiter.........ive pluged it in all the other faults have now gone except one.....idle air control valve.

I need an idle control air valve if any one has one ??!!

Just clean the IACV. If you do a search there is a pretty good guide. A magazine did a feature on it and someone scanned it in. If you can't find it I'll dig it out later. Saved it in my favourites at home!!
