Default What turbo sticky?

I have been having a browse and can't find one, so thought it might be a good idea. Also it might counter the lack of technical threads happening at the moment. For now my car is a daily and I'm pretty happy with it as is, but I might remap just to bring full boost in a little earlier. At some point next year it won't need to be a daily any more and I can look at pushing the power a little more, and maybe look at a few track days etc.

Now I understand that unless you're lucky, the vf35 maxes out at around 340bhp. So would a billet wheel increase that, or just spool quicker? And after that what other options are there? A nice list where people can add their turbos, and what power they are good for and how laggy they are etc. would be a handy tool for relative newbies trying to learn. I know a lot of other mods go in to making a good car, but a massive spec list for different powers would probably just get messy.

For fast spool and big power options are limited. A decent set of headers will help spool up. Could also switch to a twin scroll setup or a ball bearing turbo! Billet does help a bit. I just swapped from a 20G to Billet 20G and their is a huge difference. Not so much in spool but in Power produced at a lower boost, Most billets seem to flow around 15% more.!
Decent headers would be my suggestion.

It's not really a what should I do thread. I'll probably max out the vf35 then look further after. I was just interested in what the next step up was with so many different types, and thought a sticky might be a good idea for information purposes. Maybe a list of the different turbos with their peak outputs, and their pros and cons.

I'd appreciate a "what turbo" thread too.

Found this one http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1218459

md series or sc turbos are good for newage sti's ans sc 42 or 46 or md321 billet versions should see well over 400 bhp and spool nicely.
450 is the max you want to go on standard internals.
my old vf 35 made nearly 360 on rcms rollers with fmic and decat.

over 400 bhp you will need more supporting mods like fmic etc
