Default Help EGT Probe reading high

I recently bought a 2002 wrx bugeye which it appears has been bodged up to sell to an unexpecting novice...me, as it's gone into limp mode..I didn't spot the bulb had been removed from the engine management .

A friend of mine plugged in fault reader and has identified that the reason it's gone into limp mode is due to the EGT probe reading high, which he's disconnected , car now drives but the boost control is not plumbed in either, any ideas on how I can fix this? I've been told that I will probably need a new turbo as well..totally gutted ..

Hi there

Speak with mappers over here, they should be able to disable EGT erros, assume yours car running decatted Up pipe or STI up pipe,if yes due this you have those issue, but mainly this will occur on colder winter days

I would try this Mechanical CEL Fix,its cheap and working well on many cars

Hi there

Are you running any kind of the boost solenoid ?

Or do you running aftermarket Boost controller?

Boost solenoid looks like this and is it located near yours airbox

Thanks mate, yeah it looks like previous owner had some sort of after market controller that's been removed, cable wax only connected to the boost gauge ,hence no boost ..I've switched it yo the controller and it's boosting like a rocket!! Thanks ...

Hi,
Pm me if you want a cell fix for the EGT probe. I have the correct resistor to fit the plug. A temporary fix anyway.
