removal of pin on accelerator pedal
hi guys,,,
lets see if anyone has come across this problem.
I want to take the rubber pedal off of my accelerator in my hatchback wrx.In the middle of the pedal is a small metal round pin which doesn't seem to want to move.I have put things onto it like a punch etc etc and used a little force. If it was easy to take the whole of the accelerator pedal and arm off that would be good but because it is all fly by wire I don't want to take it off and mess all of that up.....
any ideas how to get the metal pin out and it would be tricky to even get a drill in there to drill it out.

A whole lot of force is needed , I did this when I put new pedals on.
I used vice grips on one end (the pin sticks out either end) twist it back and forth while pulling it. It will come out eventually ! I tried hitting it out with a similar sized screw and a hammer , but was getting nowhere and there isn't much room to work.
Have fun !

Think I wedged a block of wood from the side of the pedal and the corner of the footwell to give something to hit against , rather than just hitting the pedal itself , pretty sure it was just enough to get a start on it. Then it was alot of wriggling with vicegrips.
If you drill it out what will you replace it with ?
