Default where to purchase decent oil filter

Guys where is a good place to buy a decent oil filter from? Have herd there was a faulty batch that went out a while ago too.

Also I want to change my oil preferably before I fit my practically brand new turbo, os it ok if I just change the oil whilst cold? As I normally run the engine first for about 10min, but dont really want the old oil circulating through the turbo..

+1 on the RCM filters with Millers 10/60 and warm up to get the old oil out, IMO I would run for a few minutes at least, but your call.

I have run a few Subaru's over the last 4 years and all have had the Millers treatment

I was on the understanding that the OEM Subaru 'black', made in Japan oil filters.. (for the 3.0 I think)
Were of a much higher quality than the blue (FIAM?) made in Canada filters.

As above, make sure it is the black filter. RCM do them. Or try ebay!

i just use the k&n oil filters - big nut on the bottom makes easy removal of old ones!

HP-1008 for smaller newage filter
HP-1015 for larger classic filter

I use a Mazda rx8 filter. It's made by the same manufacturer as the black Impreza one, has the same bypass pressure and is slightly larger capacity.

If you're interested the Mazda part number is N3R1-14-302
