Hi all,

I was just trying to get a rough idea how much power this engine would produce and if it's actually worth £1800 for a version 6 sti


"freshly built Subaru impreza sti engine it is a version 8 sti semi closed deck bottom end with forged pistons acl race bearings Manley rods cosworth gaskets new water pump and timing belt kit fitted all mated to genuine impreza p1 heads all checked skimmed and new valve seals etc before being put on! Also has freshly powder coated red inlet manifold! In a nutshell this engine is a good and strong engine built with no expense spared by Howard at Hdc Subaru (very well known Subaru professional) and has covered less than 1000 miles since build"

Plus I'm getting a polished alternator, starter motor, exhaust manifold and up pipe

With no turbo you won't make much power at all.

With the right turbo and supporting mods it should be good for 450-500bhp IMO.

Do u think it's worth 1800? Il be using 550cc injectors and a vf29 turbo

I would say 350hp max with 550cc and a VF29

block will do 500. rods will do 600 but not if you are going on the track i would say 450/500 .its not the head gasket its the bolts, imo 14mm after 450 .for safty. bearings are fine .all depends on what pistons .ie there are to mahle pistons ,one set is rated 450 and one at over 450 , i would pay that if i saw the receipt .but why is he or she taking the engine out after spending all that money
