Default sudden engine cut out 03 WRX

I drove around 40 miles yesterday with no probs, a little bit of enthusiastic driving. When I got into town going round a roundabout car started to "kangaroo" in first and second gear. Clutch is fine. Engine then cut out completely and I had to roll into a side street. Engine refused to turn over. Car finally did start a couple of hours later and I drove up and down the street, but by this time I had already called for recovery so had it brought home. Not been out in it today, so no diagnostic yet. Some sort of fuel blockage? Any ideas? Ta!

Yes I have CEL which has been on for a while. I had a knock sensor problem making the car sluggish. I changed the sensor and car has been boosting as normal though CEL stayed on so hard to say if there is a new problem though probably there is!

You really need to plug in and see what codes come up. You can delete the old codes for the previous problem and switch the light off at the same time. You can buy a ODB reader for £20-£30 that will do the job.
