Default Wr1 prodrive exhaust mods

I've just bought an impreza wr1 and hadn't stopped smiling, until my mrs told me that my mates stage 2.5 decatted vxr burg sounds better .Now it does sound nice, but it's no scooby burble. Being a wr1 I'd like to keep the prodrive bb and don't really fancy a 3" turbo back, so how can I improve the pops and bangs? Need to stick to a reasonable budget though, I have just bought a new car.

You could start by fitting a de resonated mid section and possible downpipe de cat, but you will need your car mapped after removing the downpipe

As above. And if you want pops and bangs, then the mapper can put them on. Either way, if you want pops and bangs, or you fit a decat, you WILL NEED a remap.

Good, dont get rid of the prodrive backbox these are great for burble.if you don't go for a decat downpipe (which is best for power) go for a prodrive sports cat this will greatly improve sound and make mots a little more easy.anyway just enjoy the car

Thanks guys. Maybe the non res centre pipe is the way to go for now. Would eventually like a remap anyway, but that's above my budget for now. Will that and an aftermarket panel filter make much difference? Really want to just mint her up first, then maybe some mild mods to push the power towards 350bhp.

Yes fitting the centre section exhaust pipe will greatly improve sound (louder burble) you could leave the panel filter alone for now-if its nice and clean

Not long serviced at slowboy, so should be spotless at the mo. Any pointers on which centre section to go for? Or just any non-res 2.5"?

Yeah any 2.5 non res mid section will be fine, I got mine from scoobyworld, you should already have a prodrive sports cat as the wr1 was a PPP model
