fuel pressure regulator fitment
hi all, in new to the site, im tom from Birmingham kingstanding.
sorry that my first post is begging advice but i have not long bought a 93 wrx and have been restoring it. So far i have fitted:
yellow injectors
walbro fuel pump
piper x
sti intercooler
td05 turbo
hks ssq bov
3" decatted system
apexi power fc
apexi avc-r
now i today fitted an adjustable regulator but am not sure if i did it right. I have trowled the forums for info and have only found a couple of pics. From these i know the vacuum is in the wrong place.
can anyone tell me what goes where? Then i can get it mapped fingers crossed.
once its all fitted is there any special procedure to starting the car as the fuel is depressureized?
thanks all and again sorry that my first post was for advice

Tha vac pipe from the regulator can be connected to any spare port on the inlet manifold or tee'd in at any suitable vac line coming from the manifold. Starting? Just switch the ignition on/off a couple of times to prime the system

Hi micky, that's what baffles me, standard one looks way different to aftermarket adjustable one, probably just me being thick but i cant suss which way the pipes go.
now the vac pipe is where it should be what is the worst that can happen if i just try starting the car in a trial and error method?

Is there a vacuum port on the top of your new FPR? If so, just connect a vacuum hose from there to the intake manifold. On my 97 model there's a nipple on the manifold just above where the standard FPR is normally fitted.

If the OEM connection isn't connected to something requiring a vacuum, or blocked it'll run like a bag of ****.
The OEM one will look different to an aftermarket one, they are about 10 times smaller, Tom.
What brand FPR do you have?

Thanks for all the help everyone really appreciate it it is a turbosmart one. Three ports all together one is small so guessing that's vacuum. Where the original reg came off there is a big pipe and small pipe.
why didn't I try harder at school lol Imbfed up of being thick

Is it like this one?
http://www.turbosmart.com.au/product/fpr-1200
If so, the vacuum connection is the one sticking out of the side with the barb on the end.

I still don't get it :s
i have put adaptor on fuel rail, then there are a big pipe and small pipe behind it in front of turbo.
with the vac connected, i now have two ports free on regulator. So the two fuel lines fill both these ports so do i need to fit a t piece somewhere along the line?
really sorry about this :s
