how easy to refit newage cat back in exhaust??
Basically current system consists of ninja sports cat, scorpion 2.5" centre section into prodrive back box.
From what ive read, the sports cats are useless, so obviously going to need to refit another cat on for the MOT.
Swapping the downpipe over seems like abit of a pain especially as its only needs doing for the MOT.
Any reason why this isn't an exhaust system or centre section that has a removable section where the 2nd cat what normally go, like most cars??
Would it work if I was to do something like this? and not cause any CEL issues and make the car passable??
Thanks

Think of it this way the Prodrive PPP was a factory option for the sti but what they don't tell you Is that you have to get them hot before a omissions test,my car is just running one Prodrive cat with straight through pipe work for the rest of my exhaust system and has always passed the test,I also think the Prodrive cat is 100 cell.SJ.

Honestly, to remove and refit a downpipe isn't that hard. As long as the nuts and bolts at the turbo end, have been off before, (which they have been cos of your ninja cat),then you should be ok. Take the car on a nice long drive to get the nuts hot and you should be ok. Copper slip them afterwards too .

are both lambda sensors still used even when the 2nd cat has been replaced or does it usually get removed??
If it comes to needing to remove it as car wont pass, ill just go full decat, but possibly have something done to centre section to allow for cat to be placed there maybe

I'm actually in a similar situation. I put a new ninja sports cat in recently. I wrapped mine in magma wrap. I havnt had an mot yet so I'm eager to see what will happen. If I have to get it through the mot with the help of a friend (), then I will put a decat dp on. But again, wrap that too.
