Exhaust, panel filter, suspension, brakes, new plugs will help.

If you get a UK PPP ECU these came with a better fuel pump, silicone I/C hoses and sport catted exhausts, you'll need them all to optimise the ECU.

The money just keeps mounting up!

Prodrive Performance Pack ECU fitted to later Classics through to the Hatch Back cars. One power level increase for Classics, two for the Newage cars (WRX or STi).

No, definetly not. They are a bespoke ECU supplied by the Company that ran the Subaru Rally Team. Hugely trusted with quality products. The ECU comes with a generic map but a few other truick bits to make it better.

Mapping your car will depend on the Model Year as some do not have the OBD (computer port) required to plug in a laptop. Your normal ECU is quite adequate for mapping with Newage cars getting better results from the standard ECU with a remap than fitting ageneric PPP ECU.

It's a whole murkey world out there.

What year is your Car?

Have a look under the steering column, it should have a multi pin port. That means you can map the ECU. Remember that Open Source mapping may be cheaper but to optimise the map you need to get the support mod's done first.

Then get get you head into the Scoobypedia/JGM/BR Developments/Engine Tuner/Powerstation websites.

1997-1998 version 4 impreza`s cannot be mapped as such and the PPP ecu is the easiest way forwards to get a little more reliable power but one thing concerns me and that is you have only just had the car and you want more power already so what car`s have you had previously?.

It's an ECU that plugs straight in to the current loom. The MY's are built from the September of the previous year ie MY 98 cars are built from Sept 97 to August 98.
