help!! changed my turbo td04 in my 1999 uk turbo to a td05h 16g front entry but turbo aint spooling at all, all pipe work is standard and I rev to about 4000rpm n dump valve doesnt kick in and no boost while driving at all???

 

Is it mapped for it?
Limp mode?

 

No its not been mapped for td05 yet as only had it fitted few days ago n getting mapped end of the month pal

 

^^ there is the issue, Woudnt drive it as boost spikes could damage the engine

 

I would of thought the turbo would of spooled even without remap, it was mapped on my td04 at 1.1bar but getting it redone end of month

 

I took of the pipe to actuator so ecu had no control n still nothing

 

Check wastegate actuator, the only way you would have no boost at all is if it were stuck open, when i bolted the downpipe back on my car once i had the actuator arm off and the flap was opened fully, as i tightened the nuts up the bellmouth jammed against the flap and only realised when i saw the struggle my mate was having trying to get the arm back on :O num nuts

Hi ppl got my boost back was the big o ring that was squashed n snapped

 

Keep your eye on the boost gauge! Too much boost will be very bad news!

 

It was remapped on my td04 for 1.1bar boost but as ive changed to a td05 16g will the boost of changed or will it stay at 1.1 bar?

 

STOP TRYING TO DRIVE IT WITH THE DIFFERENT TURBO ON IT TILL YOU GET IT MAPPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fuel will be all over the shop so you may det the piston to death and then you'll need a rebuild.

different turbo means a new map full stop

 

Ive not been driving it, its on my drive while using the missus car n wasnt just asking for advice!

 

good good, some people fit bigger turbos then go for a drive and see if it works, bad bad move.

wait till it gets mapped, decent tuner will be able to iron out any bugs for you
