Why would it mess up your car? Ive run EWG for years on my starlet.

Right, Wastegate pressure is your "base pressure" so this will be the lowest the car can ever run. What boost do you run on your map? and do you have two map settings?

If so set your wastegate to the lowest setting and use your boost solenoid to bring it up to your highest setting

Hi there

Depends on the turbo/boost what you will be running, but this has been great answer on one forum

There is no hard and fast rule to waste gate sizing. It depends on the turbo and the size of the engine. The desired boost pressure also comes into play as well as the design of the manifold. Generally as turbo size and engine power increase, so does the exhaust gas flow. This requires a larger waste gate to control boost.

Running external wastegate on VF35 is what I wouldn't run/consider,just due cost and performance ratio

0.7bar spring should be enough too for bigger turbo

On such small turbo as VF35 running external wastgate setup is in my view pointless

Just EWG(External Wastegate) cost £220 at least, modifying pipework etc will cost extra money and you can end with price somewhere at region of the £500-£600 without the mapping and what you will gain, not sure, yes will have awesome noise

I will rather save money and think twice about the best option

I would beg to differ with Jura, EWG isnt "performance enhancing" as such, but works very well on smaller turbos. This is due to the boost creep been eliminated as the wastegate on the smaller turbos is too small and often requires "porting" to stop the boost creeping at high loads.

I have used EWG's on small turbos for a number of years to great effect, and can honestly say it is a worth while mod, personallly i would go with a plumbed in screamer pipe though as the noise does get on your **** after a while!
