Default ruined engine ?

hi guys
just a quick one ,

the subaru i got hold of had a failed oil seal on the turbo which was causing it to suck oil through the turbo ,

if for say the last owner ran it like that what damage should i look for ?

the turbo was whinning really loud when we put it on the drive so didnt have chance to hear for knocking , but then again i hopefully would have noticed it anyways..

so yeah what can i look for to see if theres any damage or is it a case of listening ?

cheers

The knocking would be really obvious I think. It's worse on deceleration as far as I know. So give it a blip of throttle and listen for it. There's a million videos on YouTube with Subaru knock so you can have a listen. Also, best detected when cold!
