Default Fault code P2444

Hello guys, I purchased my first Subaru 06 Hawkeye wrx just over a week ago and I've had a engine light come on with the code P1410, something to do with a low circuit voltage on the secondary air pump ! I know this as I have a obd2 scanner. I cleared the code and all was fine for a day and then yesterday the light came back on with this new code P2444 which is the secondary air pump stuck on ! . I've been trawling the net for hours and it would seem this is a common fault on the 2.5 engines as its a system that was added as I kinda after thought to bring emissions down on start up and doesn't effect the running of the car. My dilemma is its very expensive to replace all the parts so I've read you can take it off, blank off the feed into the engine and re-flash your ECU to not read the codes, has anyone else done this and where did you get it done ?? I'm based in the south east, help please lol !

Have a feeling I have got the same problem on my 06. Used ecu explorer to scan but it does not show a fault code. Can I ask what reader you are using?

very expensive to repair, the valves alone are stupid money not to mention a pump at £600

I deleted mine and took it off the car and had andy delete the system on a remap

That will be the plan if I can confirm the fault by reading the code. What reader did you use?

Just a cheap OBD 2 reader off e-bay £40. If you have an engine light on you should get a code. That's the only way I knew I had a problem. To confirm it was that I cleared the light a couple times and it kept coming back on with the same codes

Yeah I'm booked with them to have it removed and the ECU re-flashed this week. They have done it many times and seem very reasonable

Getting there slowly used this free program to get the fault codes P2444 and P0410 both to do with Secondary air pump.

Just got home from having the whole secondary air pump system removed and the codes removed from the ECU. Slowboy racing in brands hatch were bang on. Engine light gone, all done in two hours. Excellent service would recommend all day.

My mechanic is off work for a while so I just disabled the fault codes using ECU flash. No light on now.

This is how I did it using ecu.

You need to copy the rom from your cars ecu and save it to your pc. The open the rom and scroll to bottom of list on left hand side of program. You will find a list of fault codes. I disabled P0410 and P2444.

Save the new rom and ecu flash it to the car.
