Default apexi air flow converter on v1 sti

I got a v1 wrx sti on thursday and it has this apexi air flow converter fitted to it. its set to just over 0. the previos owner (my uncle) said he has never touched it and didn't no anything about it. can someone explain it to me abit, i no its to do with air fuel mix and it reads the pulse from the maf? So tempted to turn it up lol.

I wouldn't be fiddling with it until you get instructions for it. You could seriously lean out the fuel mix and melt pistons!

Remove it pointless bit bit of electronic tat that will more than likely cause issues if you fiddle with it.
Had a Pivot one fitted to my car (already fitted in Japan) and spoke to my local impreza specialist and told me to remove it straight away.
