Default HELP..EJ257 CDB can this push 600+

Hi had a read about this but not much on whats achievable. Can some one help by advising on the below

Would this be able to exceed 600+hp safely?

What max bar/psi would you expect to run turbo?

Who would you highly recommended to buy this from?

Would the inserts/liners ever drop?

Would this run a GT35 or GT40 without lag?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated as im thinking about going down this route

cheers

Hi there

I would say yes EJ257 with CDB insert should be able to run safely 600bhp+

I think Drew running destroker'd EJ257 with CDB insert above 600bhp without the problem and Daz run on his pinned 600bhp

Depends on turbo what you want to run,but usually around 2.0bar(2.3bar on better fuel like VP Import etc.) on GT30/35

I would speak with Alyn@AS Performance about the CDB insert and if they drop,I've heard only in USA few guys liners has drop,in UK Andy F running and Simon too running CDB insert on their engines

GT35 should be awesome on the EJ257 CDB and with right supported mods should be awesome combination

Not sure how much cost CDB conversion plus 14mm conversion, but maybe EJ22T will and can be cheaper option

Cheers buddy the only reason i wanted to keep to EJ257 was to use my old forged parts just change the block and pay for a rebuild.

Also im assuming it shud have less lagg if i wanted to go for GT35+ campared to EJ22????

Depends on more factors there, but you should re-use yours existing parts on the CDB,but speak first with yours builder

Again this depends on cams and heads which you want to use,but yes you can have less laggy GT35

Mark at tdr in Warwick (01926 403889) has done several 2.5 cdb insert builds. Give him a call I'm sure he'll talk you through the options

numerous different ways of pinning/inserting a Block.............we have developed ours over the last few years and have found a few little nuances that seem to assist in the location and solidity of the insert

we can do this process on 4cyl EJ20, EJ22 & EJ25 of all variants open or semi-closed starting points as well as EG33 and also have EZ30 in development
we also offer our own 14mm head stud conversion as well as various other custom engineering

Cheers for the info lads... i also read over on 22b that these new cdb formation has close to zero oil consumption. Could some one whos been running one comment on oil usage on a high power application?

Im very tempted to sell my curreny scd forged ET motor and invest in one of these.

I was gona give Alan a call, uve been highly recommended for this type of work. Just out of curiosity how much would you charge if i sent you my block to have this conversion done and also will i still be able to rebuild it using my original forged bits or would different size pistons be required? Cheers

Have a look in the projects section and read through bob rawles thread. Makes for some interesting reading. He runs high power on his 2.5 and states that he uses very little oil
