my99 hard to start, help needed
hi, my car is being a pain in the rear to start, its a my99 uk turbo.
it takes around 4-5 seconds of cranking to start.. around 8 times out of ten it will be like this? hot or cold it chooses! sometimes it will fire up in a second..
no engine codes are present. regular servicing etc as allways. i have changed the fuel filter, plugs, leads, oil and filter, air filter etc but its still the same.
it does crank normally not slow, also when its started and running there are no issues with idle or running at all, just long cranking.. any ideas? thanks shaun

My battery holds good charge and doesn't seem to dip in cranking power at all, that seems all good.
Not sure about the ignition switch to be fair.. I thought something like that would stop the car from attempting to turn over? Or throw a code? Something is a miss somewhere, this morning it started straight away when going to work, then when I finished work it took around 5 secs to start.. So it isn't as if its when she's been standing a while.. The only difference I can guess at is when the outside temperature is warm?
If its cold she seems start, when the engine itself is hot it starts but not if its been standing in the sun say?
It's doing me nut in trying find it out!

As in could be partially flooding my engine? Would need to get it pressure tested. Can I get this done at most garages? Or is it something I could do my self? Thanks

Not so much in flooding the injector is not holding fuel for the next start up so it has to build pressure back up in it hope that makes sense lol yes any garage should be able to check your injector pressure
