Default Reconditioned engines?

Hi does anyone know where I can get a reconditioned engine for my 97 import, don't have a huge budget, need something to put in mine to keep me going while I rebuild my one, thanks

You'll get lot of interesting points of view on rebuild companies on here... Personally, I would go for a crash-damaged engine over a recon after what I've read. Chances are you'll be able to hear it running, and you can inspect for oil leaks etc while it's still in the donor car.
I was lucky to get a relatively cheap recon engine for my WRX from SMR, which has now lasted around 100k. Many people weren't so lucky.

If yoru struggling with budget till you rebuild, best advice, take it off the road and buy a £300 ****ter to get you round the place while you build, wi'll save you alot of money.
