Hi all new to all this scooby world can a rad start and stop leaking as it warms up ?....

 

Rad is unlikely, but mine's top hose leaked when the pressure got up. Tickover: nowt, driving, clouds of steam

Rad or hose?

Standard rad from ebay is fine, hoses from motor factors, or Subaru.

What makes you think so?

It's engine out, rebuild top end with new gasket set, and ADVISABLE, though not mandatory, to put in new bearing shells etc on the bottom end too.

At the same time you could uprate the oil pump, replace water pump, belts, idlers etc etc

Somewhere decent, (API, DLM at Darlington, Engine Tuner, AS Performance) will do it properly for not a whole lot on the scale of things.

 

Repaced the rad amd me coolant bottle is bubbling every now and the ;'( could it bubble if ive got an air lock ?

 

Yes.

Did you do a search as to how to refill without airlocking? An airlock may do your headgaskets......

 

Yer re done the system no bubbling at the min gunna get a sniffer done
