Can anyone help me??? I recently bought a 2002 impreza wrx sti prodrive and thought I would check the coolant level,i couldn't find an expansion bottle only a metal tube by the side of the rad,this is obviously the overflow as there was coolant in there but there was no plastic lid?is this normal as in every pic ive seen it shows plastic expansion bottles?
any help would be grateful,thanks

Yep the expainsion bottle should be on the n/s. Next to the radiator

that's what I thought! the car has a front mount intercooler so im guessing that's why there isn't one?thought there would be a plastic lid on the tube though

I've got a front mount but still have the bottle (had to have a small battery though) in my Bug engine bay........

No bottle just a metal tube,I have looked at front mount kits on ebay and have seen the same tube,so must be common
