just got a wr1 spoiler and stripped it down to paint it silver for my bugeye .
i just want to know why it has a steel cable from one of the boot mount bolts that runs inside the spoiler then through the top part back out of the base at the other side then to another mounting bolt.

Haven't got a clue mate I'm just assuming that's what it's for, is there anything stamped on it anywhere?

The one I have on my bugeye is a copy I think as its made from fibreglass

 

it says made in japan abs then a big number stamped under it

 

I'm pretty sure it's to stop the top half of the spoiler from decapitating anyone if you crash. Supposed to help it stay in one piece. Same on sti spoiler.
