Default Tuned WRX bugeye owners, your advice please

As title please gents, just after some advice.

I think I want another map tweek to suit some possible future mods, BUT I thought I'd ask first to see if its worth it?

At the moment, my WRX has the following mods...

Ported TD05 FE turbo
Harvey smith wrapped up pipe
Ported wrapped headers
TGV deletes
550cc injectors
3" turbo back system
Walbro fuel pump
ITG induction kit
3" silicone inlet pipe
Front mounted intercooler
Andy Carr remap.

Duel maps, anti lag, launch control. (Highly reccomend this guy )

Running quite healthy (according to diagnostics)

Only done 53k miles full service history etc etc.

My question is... I'm running at peak 1.3bar, holding @ 1.2 bar.

I've been informed that she can handle 1.45 bar holding @ 1.3 bar all day long?

How valid are these claims?

I'm thinking about a set of headers, an a filter change to a K&N. are they worth it on the WRX at the above boost levels?

I'm aware of the 5 speed limits. But I don't drive aggressively, an nor do I launch it everywhere. Needless to say that it won't give up anyway? But aside that. What do you guys think?

I'm not chasing numbers, I'd just like to better the classic I once had. Which was 330bhp.

Anyways, any feed back would be great.

What you had on your WRX bug, what happened? Experiences etc.

Cheers in advance chaps

I'm running a Bug WRX with a Deadbolt 18G with supporting mods including water / methanol injection.........looking back on it I ran a 16G like yours with mods and loved it. I never thought it was trying to kill me or worried too much that something was going to break

Happy 350 BHP days

if you put a larger turbo on, you run the risk of maxing out your injectors.
Mine runs a TD05 20g with 740cc injectors.

I would have thought with that lot you would be pushing 330bhp, have you removed any of your other cats?

I'd look at brakes and handling, you don't mention them so I presume it's standard, and check your speeds compared to your classic in the same places, because I think you'll find your going faster, unless you've done nowt to the handling side of things.

Classics tend to "Feel" faster on the road but I find my Blob wrx ppp is quicker in lots of places than my STI type r with 330bhp, The classic is way more fun though.

Brakes are sorted. Suspension is going to V7 sti set up soon. As for turbo. I'd obvious like a fast spooling turbo, but to be honest, I think the 16g is sufficient, just needs turning up a little. An 18g on a non AVCS I think will be way to laggy for road use on a 5 speed.

An as for the RCM induction kit... Good call! Only went open cone for the fmic, and I like the noise.

I obviously don't want to mac things out, just make it more intresting.

I've noticed the only reputable headers out there are RCM, or GT specs. And ALL eBay headers are trouble (how the hell are they still sold, with that reputation)

Anyway, cheers guys, keep the points coming

I'm not selling one, I was saying I have one on my car and it cost that. I wouldn't waste money and time fitting a come for that power. Your gearbox will give up before the panel will

So it really is hit an miss with the gearbox's then.

The age old question... Will it last? It's supposed to be the stronger TY54 box that some people say will take 400bhp, IF you go easy on it?

But other people's can give up at 300.

Think Gaz has answered my question.

Just need to get saving now. Cheers guys

Much appreciated!

I am on my second box, although soon to be third by the sound of it; I'm not hard on the box - bad second hand one in at the moment - but they will break, my bug is Andy Forrest mapped at 350/360.
Very similar mods to your list, if you cant get over 360 with that lot theres something wrong
Injectors: I'm running pinks, no problem.
FMIC : unecessary till 360+, assuming its an STi one.
Air filter: Perrin short ram - love the Perrin stuff.

hope thats of some help.
