Loss of power and cutting out at low revs
Hi Guys,
Hoping you can help.
Car in question is a 97 wrx wagon. Not highly modded in anyway, in fact it's only upgrade is a pippercross panel filter.
On driving up to islands and junctions slowing down at low revs i am finding the car losses power and it one instance just cut out. It's only cut out on once but normally after a bit of throttle the car will jump back into life....with maybe a bit of slight juddering.
Any idea's ? on other cars i'd be looking at maf / coil pack / fuel filter / intake etc...and just ordered a fuel filter to tick it off the list and i only had all the intake side of things off 2 weeks ago when fitting the new filter.
Anyone else had this ? common fault ? Had a search and couldnt find anything conclusive.
Hoping you can help.

I had exactly the same problem with mine, terrible idle, cutting out with the addition of no power too. I found a couple of vacuum leaks and repaired them to no avail. I then reset the ecu using the connectors under the dash which completely sorted everything out. Almost a week on its still going perfectly.

It's probably best to reset it every time you do anything with the engine like air filter changes, plugs, fuel pressure changes or general servicing. That way the ecu gets a chance to run everything properly.

well i let it idle for a good few minutes then took it out for a drive and maintained 40/50 for as long as i could and it seems a lot smoother and it has the response back it was lacking. Hasnt cut out or spluttered at me at all or cut out.
New fuel filter on to so it must all help.
Cheers again.
