280bhp on uk
My cars running 260 with dyno proof how would I get to 280bhp, it's decated remapped etc? Would a bigger intercooler do it, or another map? Does anyone know decent mapper in northants thanks
Should be a bit more than that but not much on a remapped classic with standard turbo and sports cat/decat.
Mine achieved 273/273 so yours isn't far away.
Bigger intercooler won't do anything.
A different remap might do it but you won't notice 10/15bhp I wouldn't have thought.
Is your downpipe decatted or just your middle section?
Change the turbo, fit an uprated fuel pump for safety and remap and then you will see well over 300 if that's what you are after.
It'll kick in later if you change turbo to a VF35 or similar, but pull harder and further up the rev range.
I did this to my classic and achieved 325/320 but with hindsight I shouldn't have bothered as most of my driving is around town. If anything it was more useable before due to the later spool of the bigger turbo.

It'll be the standard turbo definitely with that power.
If you can handle the slightly later kick in of boost, swap to a VF35 (or similar), change to an uprated fuel pump and remap again. As earlier that'll take you to around 320-330bhp with similar lbft.

I can't remember how much my garage charged to swap turbos. Don't think it's much though. Don't even think it's that difficult either, but I am **** with the spanners so got it done professionally.

changing turbos is pretty easy with some good tools and plenty of wd40 and patience. VF24,28 or 29 are good upgrades from a td04 and can be had pretty cheap. if you do plan to change turbo to something bigger than vf29 or vf35 then injectors will become a limiting factor.

The low figure is down to your low boost level. Add a 3 port boost solenoid and a map tweak. A tdo4 will run anywhere up to about 290 but 280 is the norm. I don't really think the ££ is worth the extra 20 horses though.
If you want more than that just throw on a td05, 3 port and have the map tweaked. £150 for the turbo and £150 for the map tweak.

280bhp would be enough, so another map increasing the boost should sort this do u think? Whilst keeping the engine safe and reliable still,
