Default TMIC on track

Hi all. I'm looking for some opinions. I've just had my 97 Type R engine rebuilt and remapped on ESL. I want people's opinions on whether or not the standard STI top mount inter cooler is up to the job of track work.....nothing crazy - 2-3 track days a year and mainly fast road use.

Spec
Standard ish rebuild
STI pistons
New age sti roads
ACL bearings
Cometic headgaskets
New oil pump, water pump, Cambelt etc
Decat downpipe and full exhaust system
ESL Remap 305bhp and 320lbs

Is a front mount advised here is is top mount ok at these modest power levels? I'm not really bothered about any more power.....I would only go front mount for reliability purposes.....I can't afford another rebuild!

Thanks

A cheap alternative is getting a newage WRX one put on with a little modding to fit, Quite a lot bigger and cost around 30/40 quid for one if yours isn't up to the job that is.

At them number a sti top mount is fine, and you will have a fast and responsive car, just give the car a lap before you give it any, to get rid of any heat soak,

As gaz says Hawkeye WRX is up to the job

The question is do you have a classic sti top mount or a newage? new age will be fine at those levels

I have a hyperflow top mount on mine that I am running 487bhp through, I am changing this for a front mount and it will be up for sale soon if your interested.
