Anyone know about what the oil temperature & pressure should be? I've finally got some dials fitted, and don't really know what to look out for

Duno what they should be, but I get 100 psi at cold idle, drops to 40 psi when at hot idle but soon goes up when you pull away.

Temperature sits at about 80-90 degees C when cruising...........

I get 100 psi at cold idle and about 65 at warm/hot. As for temp generally 160 to 180.

Otis.

80-90deg cent with current ambient temps in the cruise up to and just over 4k rpm. Pressure will vary depending on oil viscosity but with 15/50 I see 90-95psi in the cruise. With 10/40 it was 90ish. With the 15/50 and lots of W.O.T. (on the track) 105cent and 85psi at high revs is what the current engine shows.
Even when the water temp shows normal it can take another 5or 10 miles to get the oil to 80 cent. On a very cold winters day with 20mls of easy driving the oil can still be as low as 70cent.

otis - 160 - 180?!?! degrees C? if so get an oil cooler!

I get about 80-90 degrees in general, hits about 100-110 if giving it motorway stick.

oil-pressure I get 6 kgf/cm2 (bar? ish) when cold, 2.2-2.3 on tickover when hot. It stays at a solid 6 when giving it some.

ta,
Matt

I think that might have been farenheit (farenheight? - ther old one, anyway) as I have a 'F' reader & it seems to hover around the 180-210 mark. So sounds about right.
