Default Changing the water pump

Going to change the timing belt and kit tomorrow along with a new water pump but my question is... The pump came with a gasket, do I need to use anything on it as in silicon or alike or is it just the gasket and straight on?

Should be ok with new gasket but I always put a thin smear just in case.
Nothing more to **** you off after you built up and runs sweet to discover drip drip

Clean the area on block face and the water pump face and make sure it is flat and dry.

Metal gasket you do not need sealent, torque the bolts up and your cooking on gas.

Upto you if you want to put a smear on but you do not need to.

All the best.

Be very careful with the pumps bolts fella you can strip them very easily use a torque wrench when you tighten them back up.

Thanks. Any idea the torque setting for them?
I went out this morning to do it and the bottom bolt of the cam cover has rounded, spent 2 hours trying to get that off! Still not off and I've ordered a stud extractor so I won't be at it again utill Wednesday
