Default 8s ecu help

Hello again !

Iv just discovered my supposed 93 wrx has an 8s ecu which is off a uk model which might explain the fuel cut issues I was having I'm running a vf22,Fmic,yellows, so what are my options I don't really want to splash out on simtek or apexi is there a standard ecu I could buy from say an import/sti that will give me more power ?

Cheers Matt.

If it's a real 8S JECS and not a different ECU in an 8S case they were V4 1998 not sure about some V3's having them either. You can have the ESL upgrade fitted or go aftermarket full ECU like you mention. Power figures=Fullness of your wallet.

Odd as the 8S ecu is a 3 plug whereas the 93WRX would have a 4 plug ecu.

Personally I would find out exactly what's been done to your car before spending money on an ecu

Sorry for the thread hijack but are these ecu's common for cutting off the fuel supply as now I have sorted the air leaks I now have the problem of it just cutting then coming back on when pushing the throttle hard, is that the issue I have ?

Not really known for it imo but a failing sensor may not help.
